Taste of Cape Town

Big Green Egg partnered with Robertsons Spices and Braeside Meat Market recently in bringing the Butcher Block to Taste of Cape Town.

This foodie festival is always a highlight on the Cape Town events calendar and this year seems to have been the best yet, with a number of new features, including the Robertsons Butcher Block in association with Big Green Egg. Caroline McCann from Braeside partnered with Craig Elliot, executive chef at Robertsons. Together, they showed festival-goers how to expertly work different cuts of meat at home and season it with the most delicious spice combinations. The various dishes were then prepared on the Big Green Egg, The Official Barbeque of Taste.

Fellow Taste exhibitors were quite taken with the EGG and The Butcher Man, an upmarket butchery in Green Point, came to ask if he could prepare some of his meat on one of the EGGs. His customers raved about the end result!

Maryna Frederikse of Coscheca Restaurant hosted the Pick n Pay Fresh Living Chef’s Theatre where she cooked up some mouthwatering Wagyu beef on the EGG, also after seeing it for the first time at the festival!

The Big Green Egg team welcomed many new members to the EGG Family over this 4 day long food festival.
