He took an idea for a barbeque grill based on an ancient Oriental ceramic cooking concept, improved on it, coined the fabulous Big Green Egg name, and started selling them himself from a single store in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.BGE is today the world’s largest manufacturer and international distributor of kamado-style cookers.
