Reuben Riffel is synonymous with SA’s favourite outdoor sport, the braai. So, when he joined the Big Green Egg family, he invited us to his home to show off his EGG skills. We couldn’t have been more pleased to join him and learn from one of SA’s top – and most loved – chefs!

So, respective diaries were synchronised and the Big Green Egg team made its way to Reuben’s home town of Franschhoek. Of course, we just happened to choose the same day Cape Town chose to be the hottest it’s been in 100 years!! But, in our quest to bring you local content, the shoot started at 8am and we shot straight through! #WhatHeatWave?

Because the Big Green Egg is all about cooking versatility, Reuben devised a series of braai recipes for us to showcase this versatility. Starting with this Smoking video, we’ll be taking our fans through a series of videos and recipes which are easy enough to replicate at home. Like Reuben, our recipes are truly South African!
