The weekend long foodie extravaganza culminated in a braai off of note where well known chefs competed against one another, preparing delicious braai fair on the Big Green Egg.
Chef Cara Brink’s braai broodjies went down a treat as a must have braai accompaniment, whereas Simone Rossouw (of Babylonstoren) served the most delicious fish dish smoked on the Big Green Egg.
The boys from The Test Kitchen thoroughly enjoyed putting the Big Green Egg through its paces and proved that this is The Last Braai You’ll Ever Buy – and so much more. Their beef terriyaki was superb and enjoyed by all their guests.
Annemarie Steenkamp, head chef at Burrata, prepared a succulent roast leg of lamb, whereas Lorianne Heyns of Spier’s Eight Restaurant showcased an amazingly colourful and delectable vegetarian selection and Tanja Kruger of Makaron, delighted with homemade beetroot sausage!
Ticket holders to this exclusive event enjoyed soaking up the early Summer sun in the beautiful surroundings of Spier Wine Estate, while indulging their taste buds in superior tasting dishes prepared on the Big Green Egg.
